Special auction for a very special cause

Martin O'NeillNews

My younger cousin Josh (17) was diagnosed last year with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma and has undergone various treatments for almost a year. With a strong support network around him and a determination to fight it, he has taken everything in his stride and faced the cancer head on (chemotherapy, radiotherapy and stem cell transfusion). Up until recently, the treatment appeared to be working and only last week did the family receive the devastating news that the treatment is no longer working and Josh has only a limited time left with us. We want to help make Josh’s remaining time as comfortable as possible and so I’m offering up one of my most prized possessions to try help raise some funds.

This beautiful bodhrán up for grabs is a Christian Hedwitschak ‘MOF’ Deluxe model with black peach skin varnish which I used on Stevie Wonder’s latest European Tour and it was used for Stevie’s headline appearance at Glastonbury in 2010. Having toured all over Europe, it has seen some sights. It has even been held in the hands of none other than Prince!, so as you can imagine it has a great sentimental value as well as being an amazing drum.

The bodhrán is in great condition, with the usual signs of wear and tear expected from being on the road.

Please dig deep and thank you for helping support a great cause.
